I found photography during a really transitional season of my life. I had just moved away from my hometown of 19 years to a new state where I didn’t know anyone except my husband, and everything felt new in a way I was still adjusting to. Not long after, I became friends with someone from work, and when she found out she was pregnant, my mom shipped me her camera so I could take photos for her. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that moment would end up changing everything for me.

My Approach

& What Matters

As I grew into photography, I started setting goals for myself and learning as I went. Eventually teaching myself 35mm film using my great grandpa’s camera, which made the process feel even more meaningful. There was something about being intentional with each frame that completely shifted the way I saw the moments in front of me. It’s shaped by a more thoughtful, present approach. One that allows things to unfold naturally, without rushing or forcing anything.

What I love most is the ability to hold onto the kind of moments that pass you by so quickly. Not just how something looked, but how it felt to be there in it. To create something lasting, something you can come back to years from now and still feel connected to. That’s what continues to matter to me.

At the center of everything is the way you are with each other when no one’s asking you to be anything else. I pay attention to that, how you move together, how you settle into each other, the small ways you show up without thinking about it. That’s what gives your photos meaning, and it’s what I’m always looking for.

I stay present enough to catch those as they are, without interrupting or reshaping them, so what’s documented feels honest and untouched.

My husband, Logan, is truly my best friend and the person I do life with in every sense. I talk about him often, and there’s a good chance you’ll meet him at a shoot or see him working alongside me as my associate.

I feel so fulfilled when I’m traveling. There’s something about being in a new place that shifts my perspective and helps me see things more clearly. It inspires the way I document moments, and reminds me why I love this work in the first place.

fun facts about me

I have a goldendoodle named Nala who’s basically my shadow and manages to be involved in everything I do. I also have a reptile baby named Aggie (originally Gerold… long story short, we thought she was a boy until she laid an egg LOL).
